Fooly Cooly or FLCL

Second Review: Fooly Cooly or FLCL

So my friends, here we are again. Another review, another day. Okay, maybe its been a few weeks, but really, can you blame me? I have a life outside my reviewing . Anyway, FLCL is an anime series written by Yoji Enokido, directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki and produced by the FLCL Production Committee, which included Gainax, Production I.G. and Starchild Records. FLCL follows Naota Nandaba, a twelve-year-old boy living in the fictional Japanese suburb of Madase, and his interactions with Haruko Haruhara, who arrives in the quiet suburb, drawn by the industrial town houses and the Medical Mechanica building. First off, it should be mentioned that this series is only six episodes and no, its not because this anime series sucks. Its because the creators got tired of creating episodes so they ended it at six apparently. Also to be mentioned, I'm not telling you what Medical Mechanica is. It would ruin the show for everyone. If you want to know, then what the series. Naota is an almost normal, but pretty quirky twelve-year-old. He's obsessed with looking mature and being nonchalant, but he has a portal as a brain and has aliens pop out of his forehead a lot through the series. Actually, this what usually causes all the chaos that ensues. he also admires his older brother a lot and thinks of him as being the definition of an "adult". As far as characters go, I really like him. Naota is relatable, but has his own "not-exactly-the-norm" issues. I also like Haruko. she is completely bat-shit insane, but really has a purpose behind all that insanity. Also she self-confident and really doesn't care what anyone thinks. As for the other characters they have a life of their own, even Takkun, who doesn't even appear in person for the entire series, has a little bit of a personality. All in all, I greatly enjoyed this nonsensical series and I highly recommend it. pinky, out.

P.S. Read the manga, too.
